Position Summary
QBOW Child & Family Services is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant for an 8-month term to support the day-to-day administrative operations of the QBOW Sub Office at Beardy’s & Okemasis Cree Nation. This position plays a key role in supporting frontline staff, senior management, and finance operations while maintaining a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and organization.
The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced office environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the first point of contact for the office by greeting visitors and answering phones
• Direct inquiries to appropriate staff in a professional and respectful manner
• Provide administrative support across departments
• Prepare correspondence, reports, and program documentation
• Process incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and office communications
• Maintain physical and electronic filing systems
• Monitor and order office supplies
• Support scheduling, meetings, and document preparation
• Uphold strict confidentiality in all interactions and records
• Maintain a professional image when working with staff, community members, and visitors
Qualifications
• Business Administration Diploma, Office Administration Certificate, or equivalent experience
• 1–3 years’ experience in an administrative support role
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence
• Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check (prior to employment)
