Position Summary
Reporting to the Prevention Supervisor, The Prevention Worker will be required to work as a member of the multidisciplinary prevention team. They will be a highly motivated individual who will work with the family to meet their care plan goals and achieve a satisfactory level of wellness and family functioning. Their role will be to assist in the implementation of the integrated strategy across primary, secondary and tertiary settings within the QBOW Child and Family Services Inc. service area. The Prevention Worker will be expected to support the community served ensuring the successful delivery of prevention programming. The successful candidate will be a natural liaison nurturing and maintaining relationships with community leadership, staff and most importantly membership. They will participate in local prevention events as well as overseeing event operations and community engagements. Lastly, they will work to ensure and support appropriate referral pathways for the client group.

Program Delivery
➢Ensures Prevention services are delivered with excellence and conform to the QBOW CFS Inc.’s philosophy, policies, procedures and protocols as well to provincial legislation, regulations and standards.
➢Assists in ensuring the highest quality of Prevention services through decision-making that is done in the best interests and well-being of every child and family.
➢Plan, organize and coordinate workshops, programming and activities, teachings, ceremonies and healing practices for clients.
➢Assists in obtaining the necessary supplies, equipment or funds to facilitate prevention programming.
➢Completes relevant agency records, forms and documents as required.
➢Prepares statistical reports for Prevention Supervisor, summarizing current activities and future planning and/or programs.

Program Support
➢Engages in effective communication with Prevention Workers, Protection Team, management and other staff to ensure adequate coordination of services and attainment of QBOW’s objectives.
➢Ensures that clients are aware of the resources and services available to them.
➢Assists in the planning and preparation of Annual/seasonal events and Rides.
➢Lead or participate in workshops, ceremonies, community activities as required.

Community Relations
➢Promotes QBOWCFS vision, mission, goals and objectives.
➢Establishes and maintains a collaborative relationship between QBOW CFS and member First Nation community served to ensure optimum service delivery to the children and their families.
➢Conducts presentations to communities and organizations on prevention supports and services.
➢Acts in a professionally appropriate manner both when working and not working ensuring a positive role model for clients while representing QBOW CFS.
➢Other duties as deemed by the Prevention Supervisor.

Required Qualifications, Skills & Abilities
➢Bachelor’s degree in Indigenous Social Work, Human Justice or equivalent experience required.
➢3 Years experience working with Indigenous Families in crisis with demonstrated facilitation experience.
➢Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence
➢Successful candidate will be required to submit a current criminal record check and vulnerable persons check.
➢Knowledge of the health and social services programs offered to First Nations in Saskatchewan
➢Knowledge of Saskatchewan Child and Family Services Act, the FSIN Child Welfare and Family Support Act, Policy and Procedures Manual for Family Centered Services (MSS), and other legislation;
➢Knowledge of various First Nations culture and practices.
➢Successful completion of a type of Community Health Substance Abuse and Planning and Prevention ethics training.
➢Computer literacy, including effective working skills of Microsoft Office, Teams, Outlook required.
➢High level of sound and independent judgement, reasoning and discretion.
➢Strong morals and ethics, along with a commitment to confidentiality.
➢Some Travel and overtime
