(2) Permanent Prevention Worker Positions
Reporting to the Prevention Supervisor, The Prevention Worker will be required to work as a member of the multidisciplinary prevention team. They will be a highly motivated individual who will work with the family to meet their care plan goals and achieve a satisfactory level of wellness and family functioning. Their role will be to assist in the implementation of the integrated strategy across primary, secondary and tertiary settings within the QBOW Child and Family Services Inc. service area. The Prevention Worker will be expected to support the community served ensuring the successful delivery of prevention programming. The successful candidate will be a natural liaison nurturing and maintaining relationships with community leadership, staff and most importantly membership. They will participate in local prevention events as well as overseeing event operations and community engagements. Lastly, they will work to ensure and support appropriate referral pathways for the client group.
(1) Foster Care Resource Worker
The Foster Care Resource Worker is responsible for the recruitment, assessment and training of foster care providers for QBOW Child and Family Services Inc. The Foster Care Resource Worker will be responsible for coordinating the provision of comprehensive specialized foster home services for children in temporary or permanent care and children at risk. This includes recruiting and actively promoting the foster care program in the community, as well as investigating, assessing and counseling new foster parent applicants to determine suitability. The Foster Care Resource Worker will provide counseling, support services and ongoing training to foster parents. Investigating quality of care issues in foster homes and reassessments of active foster homes, and consult with First Nations and following established protocols as part of the planning process to ensure quality foster care service delivery.
(2) Permanent Family Support Worker Positions
Reporting to the Manager of Family Services, the Family Support Worker will be a highly motivated individual who will work with the family to meet their care plan goals and achieve a satisfactory level of wellness and family functioning. They will be required to work with aligning departments such as Protection and Prevention ensuring services are delivered, in accordance with legislation, regulations, policies and accepted practice standards. The ideal person lives a good, and healthy lifestyle, and role models wellness. They are connected to their own culture and are committed to working in a culturally safe way. Finally, the ideal person will be knowledgeable in conflict resolution; has excellent communication skills; and works well under pressure with an understanding that this role enhances opportunities for families to grow and change.
